Brian and I moved into our home in the spring of 2011, and we are making it more homey as we go. We have only been married 2 years, and so we have been trying to figure out the best way to split our time and make everyone happy... Bottom line is that it hasn't worked regardless of what we tried. So instead we decided that now that we have a home with enough furniture and seating, we wanted to host Thanksgiving for our very first time! We meal planned and delegated, decorated and planned, got a huge 21lb turkey and talked to friends and family for the best way to make our very first bird! It was a success, and so fun, and the best part was that we didn't have to drive anywhere at all, we had one dinner, and we had both our families together :) We LOVED it! Way to go! I totally understand the 'splitting time' dilemma! It can be difficult to please everyone during the holidays, so we should just go on a trip :)
