Our Wedding

Our wedding day was a beautiful day, and it is so special to me because it is the day that Brian and I finally became a family. It was an amazing event that allowed us to celebrate with our closest friends and family, but most importantly, it was the beginning of us. I am taking the opportunity to share the details of our wonderful big day, so please enjoy!

The night before, we celebrated at McTarnahan's with our family and out of town guests.

We started our wedding day celebrating with our best friends,

... and we prepared to be married!

With our best friends by our sides...

We made our way to the church in style.

After much anticipation, we entered the church, and my dad gave my hand to my future husband!

We were married at St Patrick's Catholic Church. It is such a beautiful church!

We had my three brothers and then my Kappa Little Sis Tiffany do the readings to help celebrate our union in God's eyes.

We lit a unity candle to celebrate our two lives becoming one:

After the vows and the prayer, we had our first kiss as husband and wife:

And here we are, announced as Mr & Mrs VanHoy!

After the ceremony we took photos with our families

As the Newlyweds, and with our best friends!

And then, it was just us:

Our reception was held at Embassy Suites Downtown Porltand:

We entered the reception to, what else, the Oregon Duck Fight Song

After a delicious meal, we had the speeches. The Dads wished us nothing but happiness, with words of wisdom and a life where our wildest dreams come true (haha, thanks Dad). Paul described the importance of letting Brian's masculinity flow in our relationship. Kelly then finished it off with wishes of a life of love, laughter, and happily ever after. Lots of laughs and great memories!

We got our simple but delicious cake from Lamb's Thriftway. It had a bottom tier of white and chocolate cake with caramel filling, a second tier of hazelnut, the next tier of lemon poppyseed, and the top tier was banana. So delicious!

After the cake, we had the bouquet toss to "Wishin' and Hopin'" and garter toss to "Danger Zone":

We had our first dance to "Love Your Love The Most" by Eric Church:

I danced with my dad to "I Loved Her First" by Heartland,  and Brian danced with his mom to Rascall Flats.

We are so thankful for our families.

We celebrated, and celebrated, and celebrated some more!

I love this picture, we are so happy to be husband and wife!
People had said that there may not be anything different about being married, but I truly feel that now there is so much more to our relationship. We are closer than ever, we finally live together, and we are really a team. I am so glad to be Brian's wife, and I can't wait to see what adventures are ahead of us!

  1. This very well be the sweetest thing I have ever read. I am tearing up (but am hyper emotional so ignore me!)

    Love you!

  2. I love your comments, and I love the very reason you are more emotional right now ;)
I might have the wrong web address, but are you still blogging my friend?
